Kalonzo Denies Having Secret Affairs with President Kenyatta

Is Kalonzo Musyoka having boardroom deals with President Uhuru Kenyatta?

Kalonzo Musyoka has time and again said that he will go for the Presidency come 2022. In fact, during his father’s burial, Kalonzo said that at his age he could not afford to gamble in politics.

The Wiper Party leader went as far as offering to be Uhuru’s errand boy and warned anyone against trying to separate them.

Fast forward, Kalonzo landed a job as the new head of the Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (JMEC) on peace in South Sudan.

Some political factions have even argued that the former Vice President has got a deal already in place between him and President Kenyatta with regards to the 2022 Presidential Elections.

Mr. Musyoka has now come out to refute such claims.

Speaking on Sunday at Isinya in Kajiado East during the thanksgiving ceremony of Wiper party official Joshua Olouwasa, Kalonzo further stated that he did not meet President Kenyatta or decide to work with him with pre-conditions.

He added that he embraced the handshake to further and deepen the unity and cohesion of the nation after a sharply divisive political season.

“I do not have any deal with President Uhuru Kenyatta, I am on the negotiating table, whatever it is we will table it there. My commitment now is building bridges and help in healing this country,” said the Wiper leader.

According to Mr. Musyoka, the country was on the brink of a crisis and there needed to be a political truce and high level of patriotism to cool the tempers and forge a united front for the country.

In a meeting also attended by Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku, MPs Daniel Maanzo (Makueni), Julius Mawathe (Embakasi South), Peris Tobiko (Kajiado East) among others, the National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal also said he took himself to the negotiating table so that the Kenyans he represents can have a say too in the Building Bridges Initiative.

He stated that after the disputed elections and subsequent swearing in of “two presidents”, there was need for a political solution hence the handshake

“After the handshake, I decided not to be left behind, we joined in the negotiating table to bring Kenyans together, kill tribalism and build bridges to enable even a MaAsai to raise to the Presidency,” he said.

He explained that the “mamba” narrative was coined figuratively to symbolize Kenyans who were killed, maimed and lost property during the struggle.

“Kenyans were killed and maimed during demonstrations… Hon. Robert Mbui and Hon. Anthony Oluoch broke their legs during the struggle, those are the crocodiles we are talking about,” said Mr. Musyoka.
