Boni Khalwale destroys Luhya Leaders in front of Ruto

Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has surprised many people by choosing to side with Deputy President William Ruto. This comes at a time when Luhya leaders are calling for unity. Musalia Mudavadi, has also declared his interest in the State House and it was expected that Khalwale would back him.

But Khalwale, has emerged as Ruto’s number one foot soldier during the DP’s numerous forays into Western Kenya. Ruto has visited the region more than 20 times after the March 9th handshake between Raila Odinga and his brother Uhuru Kenyatta.

Before that, Khalwale had been advocating for a merger between Ford Kenya Party and ANC. But all the talk ended when he chose to side with Ruto.

On Monday, during a rally in Vihiga with the DP, Khalwale told the Luhya community to abandon the Opposition, saying they will benefit more by working with the Government.

“Our brothers Musalia Mudavadi and Moody Awori were vice Presidents and they have nothing to show in terms of development projects. It has just taken Ruto a short time to connect our people to electricity and improve roads for us among other projects,” said Khalwale.

The former Kakamega Senator told Opposition leader Raila Odinga to call it a day in politics, saying his style of politics has been overtaken by events.

Raila is viewed as the kingpin of western Kenya, a kingdom that William Ruto is salivating upon. Do you think Khalwale will deliver Western votes to William Ruto ama ni Kelele za Chura?
