Family reveals burial details of the slain Kenneth Kamto

The family of the slain Kenneth Kamto; former Deputy Governor of Kilifi County has today revealed the burial plans of the leader.

Kamto was shot dead in his house on the eve of Jamhuri day leading to an uproar from various leaders demanding that the criminals involved should be brought to book.

Sources have revealed that there had been a protracted argument over his religious affiliation therefore causing a divide over the burial plans.

On Saturday 15th December, the matter was discussed and it was  determined conclusively that Kamto is a Muslim.

The family therefore secured the right to bury him in accordance to the Islamic laws.

Due to some other unavoidable reasons,  the burial is scheduled for Wednesday 19th December after dhuhur prayers at his farm in Rabai.

Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi had earlier  sent out his condolences to the family of the former Kilifi  Deputy Governor Kenneth Kamto after the reports that he was shot dead by unknown gunmen.

Amason  Kingi eulogized Kamto as a selfless and able leader based on his service  as Deputy Governor during Kingi’s first term.
“It is with deep sorrow, shock and utter disbelief that I have learnt of the death of Hon. Kenneth Mwakombo Kamto who was shot dead by unknown people at his home in Nyali early today.
On behalf of the County Government of Kilifi, I wish to express my deepest condolences to the family of the late Kamto and assure them that we will stand with them” he said
As the family made the public announcement concerning the burial arrangements, they also called  upon all, to turn up for Kamto’s burial in large numbers to demonstrate  solidarity.
