Family reveal burial date after a divide over Kamto’s religious affiliation

Former Deputy Governor of Kilifi County; Kenneth Kamto is set to be laid to rest on Wednesday 19th December.

The family has finally come to an agreement and settled on the burial date and schedule after what is believed to have been a religious divide.

Sources reveal that there had been an outstretched argument over his religious affiliation.

On Saturday 15th December, the family announced that it had been determined conclusively that he is a Muslim.

It was also made clear that the leader will be buried according to the Islamic laws  after dhuhur prayers at his farm which is located in Rabai.

For the past few days after he was reported dead, Christian brothers and sisters have been congregating in large numbers at the deceased’s residence in Nyali.

Following the conclusion that he is Muslim, the burial plans by the Christians had to be brought to a halt.

Netizens who knew him to be of the Islamic faith has also weighed in saying that Kamto used to pray  with them at the Masjid Khairat Mosque in Kilifi  and they will not allow it if he is buried against the Islamic laws.

Kilifi Muslim leaders were also urged to to stand tall and defend  his religious beliefs until he is laid to rest.

After succeeding in getting the rights to bury him as a Muslim, the family added that the family and friends are expected to turn up in large numbers so as to give him a befitting send off.
