“Officers who visited the scene found the female body intact but only one hand from the male body,” he said.

Rangers discovered the two bodies at Lions Camp in Waso division, one of them mauled by wild animals.

This comes as a relief for the family which had earlier stated that they were not giving up the search until they found their loved ones them, even if just their bodies.

The police boss, who was leading the search team had said that they were having a difficult time finding the bodies because of siltation in the river.

“The bodies may be buried under silt that is washed into the river by flood waters,” said Karanja.

The driver of the vehicle however survived and was taken to Wamba Mission Hospital. The deceased’s bodies were also taken to the same facility.
