This is news that was welcomed with the thousands of Kisumu residents who attended yesterday’s events.

The DP, who was accorded a warm reception, has had to fight off claims that he undermining the Building Bridges Initiative.

“And as the [ex]Prime Minister [Raila] has just said, we have agreed that our enmity of yesterdays has been buried. We opened a new chapter of unity as leaders…If you see Uhuru, Raila and the Hustler, then its show that things are okay,” Ruto said.

It still remains to be seen how for how long Ruto will keep his calm and work side by side by Raila Odinga.

With the race to the 2022 Presidential elections already taking shape, Kenyans have played down Ruto and Raila’s new found union with many suggesting that they will soon get back to dancing to their usual tones, that of engaging in bitter exchanges at various political and public gatherings.

Ruto is expected to go for the Presidency with many seeing him as the front-runner. ODM Chief Raila Odinga on the other hand is yet to declare whether he will run for the top seat or not.

If Raila will finally declare his interest in the Country’s top seat, Will Ruto still see him as a friend and work with him.

What of the ongoing referendum talks? Will William Ruto finally change tone and support the push for referendum or there will still be a push and pull kind of games between him and Raila Odinga who has been in the fore-front pushing for the referendum?
