Ronaldo challenges Messi to quit Barcelona

Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo has challenged Barcelona ace, Lionel Messi, to join him in the Serie A noting that, “I would like him to come to Italy one day.”

Ronaldo left Real Madrid back in July to join Juventus in a deal that was said to be in the region of  £90M. The Portuguese has had a fine start to his debut season in the Serie A netting 10 goals so far helping his team to the top spot, eight points clear of second-placed Napoli. In the absence of Ronaldo, Lionel Messi sits at the top of the top scorer’s chat in LaLiga with 11 goals tied with Cristhian Stuani.

The former Manchester United forward in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport noted that he would want to see Messi in the Serie A, “Maybe Messi misses me. I’ve played in England, Spain, Italy, Portugal and for my national team, while he’s still in Spain.

“Maybe he needs me more… For me, life is a challenge, I like it and I like to make people happy.

“I’d like him to come to Italy one day. I hope he accepts the challenge like me, but if he’s happy there then I respect that.

“He’s a fantastic player and a good guy, but I don’t miss anything here. This is my new life and I’m happy.”

Can Messi thrive in Italy?
