The Mediamax network owned TV station K24 has found itself in trouble with Kenyans on twitter for lying to them about the mysterious VIP on Betty Kyalo’s first ever show at the media house, The Weekend with Betty.
The mysterious VIP thing was highly hyped on social media on Friday, instilling anxiety among Kenyans. Everyone was ready for the show, just because of the mysterious VIP.
Some started speculating that the VIP might be USA based top musicians Jayz and his wife Beyonce, with several news websites covering the content about the much speculated mysterious VIP.

The media house hired expensive limos, with a full police escort from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to the one of the most high class hotels in Nairobi, Villa Rosa Kempinski.

Reporters from the media house camped at the hotel, keeping Kenyans guessing who the mysterious VIP was, with the K24 studios being laid with a red carpet.
Do you know what? There was no any mysterious VIP other than the show host, Betty Kyalo. This has angered Kenyans, with many now blasting the media house for playing public relations stunts.
Kenyans have also blamed the Kenyan police for liaising with the media house to aid it play PR stunts. The media house was provided with full police escort with sirens to escort the “invisible mysterious VIP” from JKIA to Villa Rosa Kempinski. Many have also threatened to dump the media house for other stations.
Here are some of the reactions that have stirred the internet.

But what’s the obsession with VIPs, whose contribution to our well being is unknown? What if they peddle drugs or steal our money to be VIP? Let us avoid being dazzled by opulence and consider all humans as equals, riches notwithstanding #MysteriousVIP
