Arsenal players captured in a video apparently inhaling nitrous oxide in a London nightclub will be spoken to and reminded of their responsibilities, the club has confirmed.
A video published by The Sun shows a number of senior Arsenal players including Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and 19-year-old Matteo Guendouzi inhaling nitrous oxide also known as laughing gas or hippy crack.
The shocking incident is said to have taken place back in August, before the start of the season with the gunners going on to lose their opening two matches against Chelsea and Manchester City.
Confirming the incident, a club spokesman said: “The players will be spoken to about this and reminded of their responsibilities as representatives of the club.”
Nitrous oxide makes users feel euphoria and relaxed but when overused can lead to loss of blood pressure and even heart attack.
