The Kenya Premier League season will kick on Saturday 8 December in order to conform to to the FIFA Calendar.
Here are the five teams that are likely to impress:
The Dockers had an impressive season in 2018 campaign. The side finished second after 17 wins, 11 draws and just six losses. The side managed to make Mbaraki Sports a Fortress as they lost just once while they managed 10 wins and six draws. While at Mbaraki they scored 26 goals and conceded 10.
As they head to the new season the side had a preseason tour in Zanzibar, and they are still under the tutelage of Bernard Mwalala who led them to a historic second-place finish. With Mwalala and some of the key names having not moved to other clubs the Docker promises to pick from where they left last season.
William Muluya coached side finished sixth in the 2018 season which was a drop if compared to what they achieved in 2017, their debut season. The side, however, capped their season with a Shield win that has put them in the continental football.
They have a young squad which gained some experience last season and have lost a few names as compared to the start of 2018 season. heading to the new season they will be oozing with confidence as they have managed to reach the first round in the CAF Confederations Cup in their debut season in continental football beside that they have beaten Gor Mahia FC to win the Super Cup.
Robert Matano managed to turn around Tusker’s season. From early struggles to finishing third. No one expected the side to rise from the 15 spot to the third spot. With the likes of Mike Madoya, Clyde Senaji, Kevin Ade Omondi and other new signings on board, the 2016 champions might be a serious contender.
Gor Mahia FC FC are the defending champions and even though they lost Karim Niziyigamana, Kevin Ade Omondi who were key names last season the side will be hoping to maintain fine run witnessed in the last five years. They have added in some key names such as Kenneth Muguna, Shafik Batambuze, Erisa Ssekisambu, Pascal Ogweno and this players can propel them to another outstanding season.
