Former TNA nominated Senator will serve a two year prison sentence after being found guilty of stealing sh. 1.7 million from a Kisumu Sacco.

Gwendo had been given the option to refund the money she had stolen. But she failed to honor the plea bargain and judge Douglas Ogoti had no otherwise but sentence her.

In the plea bargain, the prosecution had agreed to withdraw two counts of forgery and stealing and the former lawmaker had agreed to return the money in four instalments of Sh432,930.

So how does a former Senator fail to raise such an amount? We both know Kenyan politicians are the richest people on the land, thanks to their appetite for money.

But could this have something to do with her past mistakes, her arrogance, or something like a curse.

In 2016, a video emerged online of then Senator beating up w her secretary who she accused of being a mole.

A clearly infuriated Gwendo shouts at her and a fight ensues. The woman stands up, holds Gwendo and says, “I‘m not those foolish people you beat all the time!”

All this time, Gwendo is overheard in the video shouting, “Get out! Get out!” The woman shouts back saying, “Let me leave on my own accord. Let me take my things, do not mishandle me.”

The woman told Gwendo to treat people well even if God had blessed her.

Gwendo then interjects and dismisses, “Go to the media!”

But the woman responds saying, “I cannot waste my time going to the media, but Nyasacha malamo Joy, biro chuli (Joy, the God I worship will avenge me),” as the video ends.

It seems the avenge has finally been served.
