Kenya’s senior counsel launch attacks on DPP amid DCJ Mwilu’s petition hearing

Hearing of Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu’s petition against Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji kicked off today Thursday, and the hearing has seen the DPP get attacked by some of Kenya’s top lawyers.

In the case against Mwilu, the DPP procured a foreign prosecutor, Queen’s counsel Khawar Qureshi. This is when lawyer Nelson Havi launched attacks against the DPP.

On Wednesday, Havi took to his twitter account to challenge the DPP on his decision, saying that they were ready for the Queen’s Counsel.

After the DPP explaining himself in the parliament on why he had made a decision of picking the Queen’s counsel s the prosecutor in the case, Havi was at him again.

Through his post on twitter, Lawyer Havi urged the DPP to go back to school and learn again.

“The Learned DPP, Noordin Haji has eloquently explained in Parliament, the propriety and necessity of his decision to procure QS as the need for an independent mind. It got nothing to do with Advocates acting for litigants. Wewe enda shule usome kidogo,” the post read.

According to Havi, the Court scheduled to hear FIDA’s and ICJ’s application for joinder. He cites that 36 bloggers were hired to run a specific hashtag on twitter, . He notes that these are some of the reasons why they believe Noordin Haji is a joker. Really?
