Chelsea fans woke up to some fantastic news on Tuesday morning with Cesar Azpilicueta penning a new long-term deal at Stamford Bridge.
With Eden Hazard’s contract dominating talk in west London at present given it runs out at the end of next campaign, the right-back was also another player in the same boat as the Belgian.
However, he will now be staying with the Blues until the end of the 2021/22 season after signing a new four-year contract with Maurizio Sarri’s side.
The latest player to commit his future to the club after Pedro, Marcos Alonso and N”Golo Kante recently signed on the dotted line, the ex-Marseille man spoke of his delight after agreeing on new terms in the capital.
“I am really happy to extend my stay here at Chelsea,” he told the club’s official website.
“Since I came, I felt the joy and responsibility to play for this club, these fans, and every time I go on the pitch I try do my best.
Well, minutes after the club announced his new contract on Tuesday morning, the Spaniard took to his Twitter account to send another message to supporters that went down extremely well.
Delighted to be a blue until 2022. Since I arrived in 2012, my desire has been always to give my best and fight for this club, and now more than ever, I feel the responsibility to bring more success to this family.
WE WILL KEEP THE BLUE FLAG FLYING HIGH !

Helping the Blues win multiple honours since arriving in 2012, hopefully there is a lot more to come for Azpilicueta and Chelsea over the next four years. Do you think he will still perform well for the rest of his stay at stamford Bridge?
