“Our fitness can prepare us for life but there are times when things happen so fast that we can only give credit to God for his protection” this are the words by one shivsimani on instagram after a near death encounter with thugs in Kijabe.
shivsimani claims to have been in the company of two others when they came across three bandits robbing a matatu.
In the Video the three are seen driving towards a matatu with the robbers taking cover behind the matatu, it was then that they realize the incidence and try to reverse in the hope of dodging the robbers.
However with the advice of one in the car the driver is told to drive forward past the three bandits who are pursuing them on foot.
“I had to back up long enough to roll my window up before passing by the guy weilding the ponga (machete.) The guy on the far left had a handgun, but couldn’t get it out of his waistbelt in time. They chose this spot for ambush because the road is very rough, but fortunately we were in my 80 series Also thankful for a manual transmission. . . Just before encountering the bandits, we passed two armed police on foot. The gunfire you hear at the end of the video are the cops engaging. We are thankful to have been gone before the gun battle erupted. . . Thankful for the Lord’s protection”
The incidence comes days after two suspected highway robbers were on Tuesday shot and killed by police officers in Nakuru.
The carjackers intercepted a lorry ferrying a consignment of breakfast cereals at Gilgil and headed to Nakuru. The thugs were aboard a salon car armed with crude weapons and guns. They managed to intercept the lorry, snatched the keys from the driver and drove off, leaving him at Gilgil.
