Cesc Fabregas denies January AC Milan move as Chelsea contract runs down

Chelsea  midfielder Cesc Fabregas has said he is expecting “lots of offers” in the summer but has denied having talks with AC Milan.

The Spanish midfielder, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge – with summer recruit Jorginho ahead of him in the pecking order.

Fabregas has only made three Premier League appearances this term and all of them have come off the bench.

On Thursday, SunSport exclusively revealed that Blues boss Maurizio Sarri was ready to let him go to AC Milan for £10million in January.

And the 31-year-old, who started in Chelsea’s 4-0 trouncing of PAOK on Thursday, has admitted he wants to play more.

Speaking after the Chelsea win, Fabregas said: “We have a good squad with a lot of valuable players.

“I’m at Stamford Bridge and I’m happy, but it’s clear that every player wants to play more.”

But the illustrious midfielder, who can start talks with any potential suitors at the turn of the year, has denied any contact with AC Milan but said he will have lots of offers in the summer.

“Milan-Chelsea contacts? I haven’t talked to anyone, but it’s obvious that if I haven’t signed a renewal then I can do a deal with someone from January and will probably attract a lot of clubs.”

Gattuso is keen on the creative midfielder
Rossoneri chief Gennaro Gattuso wants the deal to be brought forward and hopes it can be completed in the next transfer window.

Milan have been plunged into a midfield crisis that threatens his side’s hopes of claiming a Champions League place. The 40-year-old is also keen on two other Chelsea aces. Fabregas has made 135 appearances since his move from Barcelona in 2014.He has scored 15 goals in that period.
