(Photos) Terror in the skies after Kenyan plane crashes in Malindi

A Kenya School of Flying plane has crashed in Furunzi , Malindi county, just moments after take-off.

One person a trainee pilot was injured after the light aircraft failed to climb high enough during take-off and crashed into an electric post near a house in Furunzi, Malindi.

Locals are said to have  rescued the victim before police arrived at the scene and took him to Tawfiq Hospital in Malindi for treatment.

Image may contain: outdoorThe aircraft which belongs to Kenya School of Flying was said to be heading to Ukunda in Kwale County after taking off at 10.30am.

Investigators have however been launched to establish the cause of the crash.

KAA officials, fire brigade and police also  arrived at the scene moments after the accident.

The pilot was trying to divert the aircraft towards a swamp after it failed to climb high before hitting an electric post and fell on a house.

The kenya red cross responded saying no one was killed in the morning incidence “Together with the County Government of Kilifi and Airport Fire Brigade team, we responded to a light aircraft crash near Furunzi, Malindi. One person was injured as a result and rushed to hospital.”
