There is always a challenge for everything and just when Mike Sonko thought people had forgotten the ‘lusungu’ challenge has just began.
In a speech given by Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko during the Blue Economy Conference at the KICC the governor unleashed english skills that no one knew about.
Sonko gave his presentation where he spoke about the city’s GDP and its contribution to the growth and development of the nation.
The accent that shocked Kenyans equally triggered excitement and Kenyans have now flooded social media with all sorts of hilarious comments.
Nairobi County’s Mike Mbuvi Sonko was today announced as the most improved governor out of four counties surveyed (Nairobi, Kisumu, Mombasa and Kiambu), according to polls released by research firm TIFA on Wednesday.
Sonko’s performance improved from a D+ in May to a C in November and Kenyans feel that this might be one of the reasons why the governor upgraded his english as well.

Ngafana Mike Sonko Escalates his English and definitely Separates Himself From Waititu. It’s Warrer and not Water. It’s Waitirru and not Waititu. ? #GovSonkoImproves pic.twitter.com/3ZHZaEw9Zw
