‘PRIVATE JOKE’ Kenya’s Masai Mara reserve on the spot again

Just recently , a pair of male lions which seem to be roaring with laughter after sharing a joke in Kenya’s Masai Mara reserve was well captured by a photographer.
Rose Fleming, 49, spotted the two while on safari, describing the experience as ‘freakin’ awesome’
Ms Fleming said: ‘Their faces look as if they were sharing a private joke that made them crack up laughing’

With their noses scrunched up and tongues out, the big cats looked like they were having a hearty chuckle as they strolled through the Masai Mara in Kenya.

Rose Fleming, 49, was on a gamewatchers safari in the Olare Motorigi Conservancy when she spotted the duo having a giggle.

The textile designer said she has never seen such funny behaviour from lions before, describing the experience as ‘freakin awesome’.

Ms Fleming, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, USA, said: ‘We came upon these two male lions who were out on the Mara looking for some lionesses.

‘They caught a trail of pheromones, simultaneously took a whiff and had these looks on their faces when they picked up their heads.

‘Their faces look as if they were sharing a private joke that made them crack up laughing.

‘It was absolutely freakin’ awesome. I have never seen that kind of behaviour before – not even on Nat Geo. We watched the pair for a couple of hours.’

While this was her first trip to Kenya, Rosie, who has been taking photos for ‘as long as she can remember’, would love to return to photograph the lions again.
