The biggest awards and most awaited event of Film in Kenya day is finally here! The Kalasha 2018 awards gala is happening tonight at Safari Park Hotel.
Kalasha International Awards is an annual accolade presented by Kenya Film Commission whose mandate is to promote a vibrant local film industry. The Kalasha awards’ initiative seeks to recognize talent in the different facets of Film and TV industry.
This year, Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of ICT Joe Mucheru will be the Chief Guest of the 8th Kalasha Awards.
Among those expected to grace the awards ceremony are key dignitaries from the government and blue chip firms.
The inaugural awards were held in 2009 and subsequent awards are held annaully at the last quarter of the year. The Awards represent the five original branches of the Film making: Directors, Actors, Writers, Producers and Technicians.
Entries into the award ceremony are films and TV series that have been aired on Kenyan television stations.
The red carpet event is tonight being hosted by Amina Abdi who will be co-hosting alongside Jeff Koinange.
