Manchestern signs Ghanaian star

Manchester City have completed the signing of Darko Gyabi from Millwall as they aim to bolster their youth ranks with the services of the midfielder.

According to reports emanating from London, Gyabi has joined City for a fee that could eventually rise to around £1million. The 14-year-old played for Millwall Under-16s last season earning praise from his manager Neil Harris.

“I’ve seen Darko play myself a couple of times and he’s an exceptional young player. But when Man City come calling it’s very difficult to make players want to stay.

“If players aren’t going to stay then you have to make sure you get the best deal for the club. We wish Darko all the best for the future and we hope to see him on the big stage one day.”

Gyabi will be looking to emulate Jordan Sancho who joined Manchester City from Watford when he was 14-year-old but has since switched to Borussia Dortmund where he has made a name for himself. Gyabi, an English-born Ghanaian teenager, from Catford, is a box-to-box central midfielder whose flair and skill caught the attention of the Premier League champions.
