CS Fred Matiang’i is known to be sentimental. He always stands hard by his words, i don’t remember him retrieving his words.
In all the ministries that he has been assigned to Matiang’i has been up to the task. His extra skills have sailed him to higher rankings sometimes even confused to being a Prime Minister. His presence is everywhere. He is in charge of the defense, but he has a say in all matters.
In a number of times he has proved to be unwavering by any political storm or allegation. His hard-head has gotten him on the wrong side.
National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi yesterday warned Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i against snubbing parliamentary committees to answer questions raised by members of the Parliament.
Speaker Muturi warned the CS that the House cannot act in vain.
“It does not matter how busy you are but we cannot entertain a situation where a CS fails to come and answer questions from the MPs,” Mr Muturi said.
The speaker directed the Security Committee to meet and make a resolution. Lat week Mr Muturi read the riot act to CS following complaints from the House committee chairmen that this defiance has made it hard for them to conclude petitions .
He told the committee to stop pampering the rogue CS and notify his office through reports of the cases so that he can take action.
