Most people rarely make friends fast as it takes time to know someone, get along and even earn their trust. Isn’t that what most of us think? While people take time to court before deciding to get married, the love story of two celebrities; comedian Nathan Kimani, popularly known as JB Masanduku and radio host Tina Kaggia is a little bit different, not just a little, a whole lot different.
In a recent interview with Massawe Japanni on Radio Jambo, JB Masanduku revealed that he engaged his ex-wife Tina Kaggia 11 days after they met.
“I engaged Tina after 11 days of knowing each other,” he said.
The comedian admitted that he rushed things with Tina which led to a turbulent marriage forcing the two to part ways early in 2016.
“We started dating as a joke, and even wrote on social media. We received backlash, of course, and finally we said we needed to make everything official. We went to her parents and held our wedding [in October, 2013], despite Tina being seven years older than me,” said Masanduku.
Masanduku and Tina exchanged marriage vows at the Attorney General’s chambers in the presence of few family members and friends. According to JB, their marriage didn’t work and they both agreed to separate ‘privately but Tina tricked him into getting a divorce.
“We spent three years in marriage and got two children together, but our marriage did not work. I am legally divorced, although at first we had agreed to do it privately without involving the court and the public,” he said.
“Then one day, I received a call from people asking to give me some job as an MC, which I agreed. They tricked into meeting them so that I could sign papers for the job. When I met the person, I found out it was her lawyer and a police officer. They served me with the divorce letter. The divorce was later granted after I had attended several mentions,” said Masanduku.
The comedian however seems to have healed from his past relationship wounds as he told Radio Jambo that he has moved on and is soon planning to settle down with his new woman.
“I am in a good relationship, in which we are very open, unlike I was in my previous marriage,” Masanduku said.
Tina Kagia on the other hand accused Masanduku of never being there for their family when she and the children needed him most.
