An elected Governor allied to Orange Democratic Movement party from Gusii region has asked ODM party leader Raila Odinga to forgive him after he attended the same function with Deputy President William Ruto.
Kisii County boss James Ongwae argued that he might have annoyed the former Prime Minister after he welcomed DP Ruto in Kitutu Chache North on Saturday last week for a church service.
“I respect the party policies. I apologize to the party leader Raila Odinga if I may have wronged him in any way after welcoming Ruto on Saturday. The situation could not allow my boycott the event given that it was happening in my home constituency,” he said.
Ongwae dismissed claims by opponents that he is lazy and unwilling to deliver the campaign promises. The county boss reiterated that he is focused to ensure various old projects in the county are completed in time before new ones are launched.
“I am working closely with MCAs to ensure old projects in the county are finished. Those spreading propaganda are doing it to remain relevant in politics,” he added.
