Could the Hazard brothers be reunited at Chelsea?

Thorgan Hazard’s impressive performances for Belgium have led some Chelsea fans to call for the club to bring him back to Stamford Bridge.

Some also believed that if the Blues can recruit Thirgan, it may boost the chances of his brother Eden staying ahead of a likely transfer approach from Real Madrid in the summer.

Twenty-five-year-old Thorgan scored twice for his country against Switzerland in the Nations League game against Switzerland, helping them to a 2-0 lead which was dramatically overhauled before half-time and the game eventually finished 5-2.

It was a performance which overshadowed Eden who is normally the one in the spotlight. In fact, Thorgan had only scored once in 14 previous appearances for the Red Devils.

Thorgan is, of course, a former Chelsea player but he failed to break into the first team while at Stamford Bridge. He had loan spells at Zulte Waregem and Gladbach but left Chelsea in 2015.

In a recent interview, Thorgan said he wasn’t interested in playing alongside his brother.

He told  Bulinews: “I’m a different type of player than my brother. Eden is one of the best players in the world. When I played for the Blues, I was too young to make the big jump. Chelsea is a huge club with outstanding players. For me, the decision to play for a different team was better.”

There has been some discussion online recently about a possible buy-back clause for Thorgan but there is confusion about whether such a clause actually exists. Speaking two years ago, Gladbach sporting director Max Eberl rubbished the claims.
