Another season, another problem for Gor Mahia. A season that looked so promising, has just been rocked by the resignation of the most passionate coach the club has had in recent times, Dylan Kerr.

Kerr resigned on Thursday evening, citing that he was taking over another job. But behind the scenes, it seems the coach has been going through tough times and decided that he had had enough and wanted nothing more to do with the club.

According to Gor’s Oganising Secretary Judy Nyagi, the coach stayed for long periods without water and electricity in his house. He even had to shower in a swimming pool because of being locked out of his house.

“Kerr peke yake ndio coach angevumilia hii kiosk.Imagine a coach staying in a house without electricity and Water anaoga kwa swimming pool coz of rent arrears. Fans must protect this brand using all means.” Nyangi posted in a popular Gor Mahia fan’s Facebook group.

But that’s not all, there is a picture circulating online of Kerr eating in a Kibanda. Could it be that he was broke and couldn’t afford a decent meal? That is up to the fans to decide.

Kerr was also not happy about the fact that KPL and FKF did not support the club in last season’s CAF Confederations Cup Competitions. The team was on the verge of being the first Kenyan side to storm to the knockout stage of the competition but ended up losing their last two matches.

This was due to a fixture pile up that saw Gor Mahia play 20 matches in 60 days between July and August. If only they had received a little support in the fixture planning, then they could have surely played in the quarters.

Kerr was also not happy at the way the club handled player issues. Gor players went on a go slow several times last season, demanding to be paid. This affected his preparations for matches.
