Are we still in the era where child abuse is practiced by merciless Kenyans? The recent cases of children being mistreated are sickening and  so heartbreaking.

How sad for little angels to go through such traumatizing, psychological and physical torture. In a recent incident, a class 5 student has been rescued from the hands of a family that was mistreating her after an uproar on the streets of social media.

This comes after a concerned neighbor took to social media to ask for help after she noticed that the young girl is beaten aimlessly all the time. As she drafted the message, she revealed that the girl at that moment was washing so many clothes at the balcony of the house yet she was only wearing a panty.

This saddened the lady and she sent a plea to Kenyans to spread the word so that they may get help for the young girl who was going through pain.

The lady who is identified as Kawe on facebook went ahead and gave the location details for anyone who could come to a rescue.

The good Samaritan had tried to ask around after she made this observation for about two weeks since she moved to the apartment.  It was shocking for her to realize that this had been happening for so long yet there was no sign that the girl was receiving any help.

Is it that Kenyans are so ignorant about child abuse or a number are not aware about the agencies or platforms to report these issues to.  The lady also stated that she was not sure whether the culprit subjecting her to poor treatment was her mother or not.

Trying to imagine the things that the young girl was going through is so painful. If the ‘mystery parent’  could abuse her in the open.. how much more could she have done to her when no one had their eyes on them?

Kenyans took to social media to join in the campaign and by yesterday evening, it was confirmed that the Class 5 girl had been rescued.

To deal with such cases which are on the rise, people should be ready to speak out fearlessly immediately they notice this kind of evil.

It is also important for Kenyans to be knowledgeable on how best they can deal with such instances.

What do you think the  government should do to curb this child abuse menace ?
