Did ‘Quack doctor’ Mugo accept charges at gunpoint?

A Kenyan Journalist Wahome Thuku has today alleged that the ‘Quack doctor’ Mugo was lured by the police and persuaded to accept the charges and plead guilty.

This comes after his arrest last night in Gachie, Kiambu after being on the run for almost two weeks. The quack doctor was being sought for running an illegal clinic among other offences.

The Fake doctor Mugo Wa Wairimu was released back in 2015 on a Ksh 1 million cash bail or a Ksh 5 million bond with a surety of a similar amount.

Nairobi Chief Magistrate Daniel Ogembo accepted his bail application after his lawyer Cliff Ombeta argued that the charges facing him were bailable.

According to the journalist, Last night and throughout the night, the seniors at Gatundu Police Station talked to Mugo  and heavily persuaded him to accept the charges and plead guilty, with a promise that they would organise for a favourable probation report and he would serve non custodial sentence (kifungo cha nje).

Wahome Thuku  believes that the young man has fallen for that and he is hearing nothing else. His major concern being how police would persuade one to accept charges.

The Journalist added to his remarks saying that as soon as Mugo pleads guilty, he will be on his own. “I will let you know the verdict and we close it at that. Kila mtu na mzigo wake” reads post in part.
