Former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate and Chief Officer, Transport and Public Works Richard Mutinda Kavemba passed on Wednesday morning at the Nairobi Hospital after a short illness.
Despite being Governor Mike Sonko’s right hand man having been appointed soon after the 2017 elections, the man had curved a niche for himself in media and political field.
My heartfelt condolences to the family & friends of Richard Kavemba, Chief Officer, Transport and Public Works at the County Gov of Nairobi. As a Councillor at the then City Council, he supported the Adopt A Light Project without fear or favor. His demise is a big loss. pic.twitter.com/HaIM06ZrA1

Sad to learn of the untimely death of @mkavemba. A friend of many years, colleague and opponent in the last election. He was an extremely diligent, passionate and resourceful public servant. Glad that we were able to close ranks after the election and work together. RIP Kavesh pic.twitter.com/zcLQitYcIy
