Revealed!!CS Amina harsh punishment on KCSE students caught cheating

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates who were deregistered over various malpractices will only be allowed to sit the exam after two years.

Education Cabinet Secretary said the students who were caught cheating have been deregistered and will not sit for the exams this year.

Addressing the issue of teen pregnancies, the CS assured that the girls would be allowed to continue with their studies uninterrupted.

“All the girls who got children will be allowed to continue with their studies to the level they wish because we also want the children they got to have a good life. Those responsible for getting the girls pregnant will have action taken against them,” she declared.

She further defended the heavy deployment of police officers in schools during the examination period explaining that it was not meant to intimidate candidates but to ensure the safety and integrity of the exams.

“I do not see any militarization of the process; we are just using the resources that have always been there. I believe Kenyans are supportive because they are seeing a change. This is what is going to be the norm and we are happy with the progress,” she added.

Amina further revealed that most of the malpractices are done by adults who corrupt the young people to do the wrong things adding that these are the people the ministry is planning to deal with.

So far  four KCSE candidates have been deregistered for cheating.
