Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo is not a strong supporter of Deputy President William Ruto and anytime DP Ruto is upto something especially on the 2022 succession politics Kabogo is usually on the forefront with critics towards the very able DP.

This time the former governor has comeout to strongly hit out at Mt Kenya MPs allied to Deputy President William Ruto.

This came after they turned their guns to unnamed people who they claimed were out to block Ruto from vying for the presidency by reviving his case at the International Criminal Court (ICC).

In a tweet on Tuesday, Kabogo further advised the politicians to stop empty rhetoric and focus on serving the electorate.

His sentiments came after Mt Kenya legislators accused the DP rivals of helping Bensouda gather fresh evidence to nail him ahead of the next election.

Led by Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa and his Kiharu counterpart Ndindi Nyoro, the leaders said Ruto’s enemies were working with the ICC to ensure he does not succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The lawmakers, who have been labelled ‘Tanga Tanga’ squad, spoke on Sunday when they accompanied Ruto for a service at the PCEA Kangaita, in Tetu, Nyeri County.

Kabogo has, however, criticised their remarks and asked the MPs to come out clear and name individuals they allege were working with Bensouda.

Ruto, alongside radio journalist Joshua Arap Sang, successfully battled the crimes against humanity they had been charged with at the Hague-based court over the 2007/2008 post-election violence.

The court dropped the case in 2016 after prosecutor Fatou Bensouda said the witnesses she was planning to use had been compromised but vowed to revive the issue once she gathers enough evidence to support the case.
