Boni Khalwale Vehemently Defend Obado From Clueless Twitter Lawyers

Ever found that one friend that sticks with you no matter the storm you are going through in your life. That one person that will always defend you fearlessly regardless of the grave allegations labelled against you? Well, such is the case of Migori Governor Okoth Obado and his seemingly new found friend former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale.

Okoth Obado has been under numerous attacks especially from ODM leaders who have criticized him for his apparent resolve to work with Deputy President William Ruto whom they view as a stumbling block to an Odinga Presidency come 2022 should Raila contest.

Obado has not only faced bashing from political leaders but also from a section of Kenyans who have termed his association with the DP as immoral and uncalled for given the grave charges of murder and corruption that he is currently facing.

One such Kenyan is lawyer Donald Kipkorir who said he has no issue with people joining Ruto’s bandwagon but has an issue when people like Obado do so.

“Have no problem with politicians of all shades including charlatans joining the bandwagon of my friend, the DP. But my conscience is restless when Migori Governor Okoth Obado becomes one of the Principal Faces .This is a man charged with Double Murder, Rape & Public Theft,” said the lawyer.

His remarks were not taken lightly by Dr. Khalwale who is now a fierce defender of the deputy President William Ruto; Obado’s new found ally.

According to Khalwale, Obado should not be victimized since his case is already in court and it will only be determined by the nature of evidence presented in Court. He even encouraged lawyer Donald Kipkorir to join the prosecution team and present more water-tight evidence that will help solve the puzzle regarding Obado’s charges.

“Convictions of such suspects of double murder, rape & public theft are made (based strictly on evidence en the law) in a court of law and NOT on Twitter. U would do the public a great deal by joining the prosecution team in presenting evidence & points of law in this matter,” said Khalwale.

A section of leaders from ODM have already accused Mr Obado of making allusions to a matter before court and warned that this could “cost him his freedom.”

On Sunday, some Nyanza ODM leaders were angered by what they termed as ‘careless remarks’ by Mr Obado.

On Saturday, the Migori County chief asked Christians across the country to pray for him.

“If you pray for me, I will get out of the crocodile’s mouth,” he said.

The ODM leaders say such statements could lead to the cancellation of Mr Obado’s bond terms.

The Migori County boss, who is accused of murdering his girlfriend, Sharon Otieno, is out on a Sh5 million bond.
