Obado’s Escape Route from the Crocodile Takes him to Nyeri

Governor Okoth Obado has found a new ally, someone he can now count on, someone that brings goodies to his people, the people of Migori. In a bid to repay the faith his new found ally has shown in him, governor Obado was today in Nyeri in the company of deputy President William ruto.

The two and other leaders were in Nyeri for a marathon in honour of the late Nyeri Governor Dr. Wahome Gakuru who perished in a road accident in November last year.

Governor Obado once again asked for spiritual support noting that he is going through a time of tribulation after he was charged with the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.

“I am very happy to be with you here today and as you can see, spiritually I am alright. Let me just ask that you continue praying for me because of this other problem I am facing.

Obado also stated that despite the tribulations he is going through, his spirit remains strong and that he might be down but not out.

“My name has been greatly tarnished but my spirit remains intact, actually its even more stronger,” said Obado.

Obado also took some time to remember the late Gakuru who he termed as a great man. He also revealed that the late Gakuru was his lecturer at the University.

“We have a lot in common with the people of Nyeri. The governor whose life we are celebrating today was a lecturer of mine at one time and we became so close. I can even say that probably I am one of the people who inspired him to contest for governorship,” said Obado.

“My coming here today is to show solidarity with you and help the deputy president cement that unity which we all cherish as Kenyans.”

Okoth Obado has come under a number of attacks from ODM leaders for his growing relationship with Deputy President William Ruto who has been accused of hiding behind the handshake to push his political agenda especially in opposition strongholds.

Embakasi East Mp Babu Owino, who is a fierce defendant of Raila Odinga and the ODM party has joined in the debate. Babu took issue with governor Obado’s constant association with William Ruto. He pointed out that Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya developed the region without having to go begging for favours from presidential aspirants like William Ruto. Babu insinuates that Governor Obado should follow in to governor Oparanya’s footsteps and work for the people of Migori without having to seek for favours through the back door. Babu has also cautioned Governor Obado whom he referred to as a “murder suspect” to respect Raila Odinga.

“Devolution is working perfectly well in Kakamega without governor Oparanya necessarily walking around with a begging bowl for development from 2022 presidential aspirants like some murder suspect would want us to believe in South Nyanza.HE Rt Hon Raila Odinga apewe heshima yake!” said Babu Owino.

Do you believe Obado will overcome the storm?
