Obado’s Escape Plan from the “Crocodile Jaws” Revealed

Migori governor Okoth Obado is surely a man that looks trapped in misery especially with the hearing of his murder case coming up next year. The governor seem to have even made more enemies with his decision to play host to deputy President William Ruto in his Migori backyard now angering many and especially the ODM leaders.

The governor himself has admitted that he feels overburdened by the current predicaments he is going through. Apart from facing murder charges, the governor is also set to be engaged in a  legal battle with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption commission that has accused him of various grave counts of corruption.

Obado has now called on Christians to help him overcome his tribulations. The governor asked Christians to pray for him saying he feels as if he is walking through a fire.

Obado said he feels like he was thrown inside a crocodile’s mouth.

The governor spent weeks in Industrial Area Remand Prison in Nairobi County, following his arrest over the murder of his girlfriend

“If you pray for me, I will get out of the crocodile’s mouth,” said Obado.

Obado condemned the “crocodile” that he says was sent to swallow him and eat him up.

“I would like you to condemn this so-called crocodile, which some people want to swallow me. Let us not allow this crocodile to eat us up. I am ready to work with the DP now and in future,” he said.

Mr Obado further said that nowhere in the Bible has he read that River Jordan is full of crocodiles. Obado’s sentiments echo those of Deputy President William Ruto who has constantly taken a swipe at Raila Odinga for constantly bringing in the “crocodiles” narrative whenever he speaks at public gatherings. Majority leader Aden duale has also criticized Raila Odinga for his crocodile rhetorics.

“Our brothers from the other side, let us stand together. Don’t take us back with these crocodile stories. This crocodiles that you remind us of every day must stop. There are no crocodiles among Kenyans.” said Duale

Governor Obado has been known to be a fearless critic of Raila Odinga and the ODM party. It will be remembered that during the just concluded Migori Senatorial by-elections, Obado openly opposed ODM’s candidate Ochillo Ayacko.

Many political pundits have even argued that if not for the fact that Obado was serving as a guest of the state at the Industrial area prison, ODM would have had a rough day in Migori.

Raila Odinga was even forced to camp in Migori just so that he could drum support for Ochillo Ayacko at the expense of Eddy Oketch; Okoth Obado’s preferred candidate.

It now looks like Obado want’s to completely do away with this Crocodile that has constantly haunted him and made his life a living hell. Whether he will succeed or not remains to be seen.

Do you believe that Obado can help Ruto neutralize Raila’s influence in Nyanza and especially in Migori?
