Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale says Deputy President William Ruto has ‘explained’ to him the source of his wealth.
Dr. Khalwale added he has no problems in supporting the DP Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.
Speaking during NTV’s breakfast show on Tuesday, November 6, Khalwale responded to a bare knuckle challenge by former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo by saying he had chosen to defend Ruto because the DP told him to go slow on him besides explaining to him his source of wealth. Midiwo had questioned Khalwale’s abrupt turn from calling him a thief to supporting his morals.
In Boni Khalwale, DP Ruto found a loyal and easy to manipulate man, If Ruto tells him to jump up, he simply ask “How High Sir” That’s a win for Ruto.

“But recently we met and he explained that most of these monies are not from his salary but other businesses. Now I understand better and that’s why I will support him for 2022. All he needs to assure us is that he will appoint a running mate from Western Kenya.”
In a tweet on Tuesday, Amb. Khamati revealed how Boni Khalwale took the Deputy President’s money which she personally delivered to him, but later on turned against the DP.
She went on to say that she was only welcoming the former senator to the Deputy President’s side.

“I am questioning your current state of thought. If you could stand and say your salary can’t buy Dolphin Beach hotel and four helicopters worth KSh 1.4 billion and your salary cannot buy this. What were you questioning?” Midiwo asked.
“Yes, I have questioned the DP’s wealth in the past which is a genuine thing to do. I did not believe he could sustain that expenditure from his salary,” said Khalwale, while making an appearance on NTV on Tuesday.
The former senator said Ruto called him and convincingly answered his (Khalwale’s) queries about his questionable wealth acquisition.Khalwale who was known for regularly and publicly accusing Ruto of swindling public resources to enrich himself is now among the DP’s fiercest defenders and attributed his stance to an explanation from the country’s second most powerful leader.
