The thrill of betting is something that only gamblers identify so well and can also narrate the pain of losing.

Forget sport pesa mania in Kenya a new one managed to interest a well known politician of the people In a video published on facebook that went  viral, Murkomen is filmed with three other people and comedian Propesa making a bet on the match between Gor Mahia where Propesa placed his bet on Everton.

Propesa had said that if Gor Mahia won, he would supply game kits and balls to five schools of Murkomen’s choice.

“I want us to have a bet with you Mheshimiwa, if Everton wins I want you to choose ten schools where you will take balls to develop young talents,” Propesa said.

Murkomen was sure the Kenyan side would stop at nothing to embarrass Everton and so he went ahead to pledge to buy balls for 10 schools should the opposite happen.

However, after yesterday`s defeat, Murkomen backtracked his promise stating that he was coerced.

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has declined to honour a bet he entered with a friend on Gor Mahia Vs Everton game that was played on Tuesday night.

In a selfie recording, Murkomen jokingly claimed that his Professor had ambushed him in a hotel and had not given him time to think through.

“You ambushed me in a restaurant and you mobilised people and you purported to have agreed with me in some bet, I want to make it clear that I am talking to my lawyers,” he said.

He added that he was under duress and under the influence of some fish he had eaten.

“My friend if you are celebrating the win, I want to make clear that I have instructed my lawyers to look into the circumstances we entered the bet,” Murkomen said.

Raila spoke with Gor Mahia players before the game, motivating them to approach the match with self-confidence.

“It’s not a game between David and Goliath, its David and David, we want you to have confidence in yourselves and play your game,” Raila said.

He went on to encourage the team to use this platform to showcase themselves.

“It is not a matter of life and death; the most important thing is you are going to showcase yourselves.” Added the former PM.

Despite falling 4-0, the 17-times Kenya Premier League champions gave a good account of themselves in a tough friendly encounter played at the Goodison Park.
