He Was This Bright!! Mugo Wairimu’s Academic Qualifications

At the mention of the name Mugo Wairimu, women run for safety for fear of being led to their early graves. Mugo Wairimu is known to be a man that thrives in making others go through pain and agony.

The man is on the run as the police intensify the search for him. From raping sedated women, to performing life endangering surgical operations, it will be proper to refer to Mugo Wairimu as a psycho.

In an expose by NTV, Wairimu is seen giving a diagnosis seemingly drunk. He then proceeds to demand Sh800 for drugs that cost only Sh40.

The fake doctor also extorts Sh23,000 from a woman whose daughter had just procured an abortion in the pretext that she was receiving treatment for a stomach upset.

But wait, did you know that behind his quack nature, the man was actually good in class during his learning days and even qualified to join Campus.

A relative, who asked not to be identified because of the stigma associated with the quack, claimed that Mr Mugo passed KCSE with a B+. He sat the examination at Dagoretti High School, where he was admitted after attending Gitiba Primary School.

“He studied from home for almost one year and proceeded to Form Four where he managed to score a very strong B+ and was admitted at the University of Nairobi’s School of Medicine,” said the relative, who also claimed that he attended Mr Mugo’s graduation in 2000.

The relative does not know what degree Mr Mugo graduated with, but claimed that he did not finish his two-year residency, and could therefore not be registered as a medical practitioner.

However, Mr Mugo was not on the graduation list of the School of Medicine for 2000, and the medical practitioners board is quite clear that he is not a qualified doctor but an outright quack.

The nurses union yesterday distanced itself from Mugo wa Wairimu. Speaking to journalists at KNH, Kenya national union of nurses secretary general Seth Panyako said Wairimu does not appear in their register.

“We want to say as nurses very categorically and strongly that the person is not a nurse,” Panyako said on Tuesday.

“We disassociate ourselves from that incident and that fellow,” he added.

Panyako  called on the authorities to take stern action against the “fake” doctor.

“We cannot have criminals operating as medical personnel. Members of the public need to be protected from such unscrupulous people,” he said.

According to Mugo, his illegal surgical practices started while he was at university.

He brags on social media about how he helped remove foetuses from dead women and shaved hair from bodies being prepared for burial. In one day, he claims, he made Sh80,000 by removing one foetus and shaving three bodies.
