Cliff Ombeta Again!! Why Mugo Wairimu is a Free Man

Kenyans were yesterday surprised to realize that the lethal quack doctor Mugo Wairimu was still free and in fact still running his medical facilities that could as well be termed as “agents of death and destruction.”

In an expose by NTV, Wairimu is seen giving a diagnosis seemingly drunk. He then proceeds to demand Sh800 for drugs that cost only Sh40.

The fake doctor also extorts Sh23,000 from a woman whose daughter had just procured an abortion in the pretext that she was receiving treatment for a stomach upset.

Wairimu who was first arrested and charged in October 2015, has reiterated that he is a legit doctor who studied at the University of Nairobi.

He was granted a bond of Sh2 million with a surety of similar amount.

“I am back stronger, candid, daring and fearless. Like it or not but I’m back, my lessons fresh. Those who counted me out will be met with shock and disbelief,” a post on his Facebook page reads.

Wairimu was also charged on April this year for obtaining Sh100,000 by false pretences.

Shocking details have now emerged of how witnesses shied away from testifying in the Wairimu case 2 years ago hencehis release on a 2 million shillings bond.

He had been charged with sexually assaulting a sedated patient while posing as a medical doctor

He was further charged with illegally administering unknown drugs, operating as a pharmacist without a license and hiring an unlicensed laboratory technician.

Pleas by  Kasarani OCPD Robinson Moloi for witnesses and victims to come forward and record statements with police proved unfruitful.

According to blogger Robert Alai, Victims of Mugo Wa Wairimu who were in witness protection were exposed by Jacinta Nyamosi and Inspector Andolo Munga of DCI.

Mugo Wairimu was being represented by criminal lawyer Cliff Ombeta who has of late made headlines by undertaking seemingly tough cases that other Lawyers run away from. It will also be remembered that it is Cliff Ombeta that represented the Akasha brothers in court in a bid to stop their extradition to the USA.

Lawyer Cliff Ombeta also represents Migori governor Okoth Obado and another murder suspect Joseph Irungu alias Jowie.
