ODM party has rubbished the claims that they directed legislators to boycott Ruto’s event in Migori County.
Speaking on a tweet post, ODM said that there was no such communication from the party to any of their members to that effect. The party also added that they conduct all their communication from the party to members publicly.
Kenyans also weighed in saying that those who were giving such news of the ‘planned boycott’ were only trying to spread propaganda.
Migori governor Okoth Obado is a member of the Orange Democratic Party but has not be seen with the party’s leadership especially after the Migori Senatorial by-elections and the ongoing murder case at the high court.
This might have been one of the reasons why there was heightened speculations over the boycott claims.
Migori residents and their Governor might have warmly welcomed DP Ruto but their leaders from the ODM party led by Senator Ochillo Ayacko were no where close to Ruto’s events.
The Deputy President was in Migori County to commission the Masara – Suna- Kehancha and Awendo- Mariwa – Oyani roads, Nyabisawa, Migori County, totalling 67.5 kilometres.
Some of the Migori residents are said to have shown excitement in the road project and not the Deputy President’s visit. This however cancelled out with the grand reception that he received upon arrival.
There has not been any such communication from the party to any of our members to that effect. Any communication from the party to our members has always been made public.
