Arsenal boss Unai Emery has hailed the growing unity that is at the Emirates at the moment.
Supporters chants of “we’ve got our Arsenal back”, first heard in the 5-1 win over Fulham last month, have been the subject of much debate but they also point to a unity that the club simply couldn’t have under Arsene Wenger, even when the Frenchman won the FA Cup in 2017 he was simply too divisive a figure.
His successor has brought that unity, not least due to a hyperactive nature that suggests he feels every kick of the ball like a fan.
Emery’s intensity on the sidelines was mirrored by a renewed belief in the stands and the head coach said after the Liverpool game.
“The connection with the supporters is very important. Here it created a big atmosphere, to help the players be together with the supporters. Today it was a very good example for us, for everybody, to create this atmosphere. I want to help the players from the bench, I want to give them my confidence and my energy, but the most important push and energy is from the supporters.”
Arsenal played to a 1-1 draw against Liverpool on Saturday with Alexandre Lacazette saving a point for the Gunners.
