Arsenal boss puts nice words to game changer-Iwobi

Nigeria’s Alex Iwobi needed just nine minutes to create the brilliant assist for Alexandre Lacazette to find Arsenal’s equaliser in the 1-all draw against Liverpool last weekend.

The 22-year-old attacker came on as an inspirational substitute where he unlocked Liverpool’s stubborn defense and received a challenge from his Spanish coach Unai Emeri.

“We need every player and the characteristic each player has is important, and Iwobi he can impact hard in the match after starting in the bench,” Emery said.

The young Nigerian has consistently proved himself to be an effective substitute for the Gunners and Emery has hinted that this will be how he will be utilised.

“Today for us I think he would have started on the right, but he’s better left. This impact in some moment in the match, like for the goal, I think is important.”

“His energy is also important, his quality, but he can improve, he can do better also because he scored against Chelsea and I want him to be more near the box to have chances to score more. And he can,” added the coach.

“[Iwobi] came on again today with that brilliant skill and he made a big, big difference. Iwobi kept the ball alive,” Emery concluded.

Arsenal next takes on Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League this week on Thursday, 8 November 2018.
