Ever heard of the say that a thief’s days are 40? Kenyan music lovers from Eldoret were yesterday left to party to an empty stage after the headline act for the much hyped “Chaget” festival failed to turn up.
Details have emerged of how harmonize did everything including a sound check only to be let down in the last minute by a promoter who declined to honour their payment agreement. The identity of the promoter has since been revealed.
According to his instagram profile, he calls himself Omondiwamercedes. The company website link on his instagram profile however does not work.
Kenyans on twitter ave called on the police to take action on him for duping them.

Some Kenyan promoters have been known to be very unprofessional. These are the same promoters that do not honour contracts between them and artistes. This year alone has seen mega stars like Tiwa Savage and Everton Blender complain of being short-changed by Kenyan promoters.
The Harmonize case should therefore be a wake up call to all the other artistes out there that plan to do business with Kenyan promoters. In fact, some Kenyans have called on Harmonize for not taking his time to do a thorough background check on the said promoter that duped him.
This is not the first time Kenyan promoters have come under fire for being unprofessional. Last month, Akothee took to social media to call them out for paying Kenyan artists peanuts compared to foreign acts who come to perform.
Last year, during the BBQ Concert headlined by Wizkid, the story was the same. The whole show was a complete disaster in terms of security and general organisation of the event.
