Would you kneel in front of your favorite politician? Politics is like an addiction and those who love it do crazy things to demonstrate loyalty to their preferred candidates which involves coloring one’s body and travelling a long distance to dance in rallies.

Kisumu Deputy Governor Ochieng’ Owili had tagged along his Vihiga counterpart Patrick Saisi and a host of Kisumu MCAs to receive their party boss.

A viral photo posted on facebook by user Kennedy Omondi shows each deputy governor knelt side by side as if they tried to outdo each other to catch Raila’s attention resurfaced. Lost in thought, the former premier sat in the middle, as Owili demonstrated something with his hands, it was like he was saying his prayers

Saisi on the other hand, held Raila’s left arm. “Here is where we ask is education enough when you see people behaving in such manner. No wonder he had to address the question of dynasties yesterday. He is of Odingaism elite capture,” a Facebook user, Robbie Mulwa said of the photo.

As the succession debate hots up, ODM leader Raila Odinga rejected talks that him and President Uhuru Kenyatta are products of political dynasties. “There is no dynasty. Those people (their fathers) struggled on their own,” Raila told mourners at the funeral service of former Maendeleo ya Wanawake Organisation chairlady Jane Mumbi Kiano.

“Jomo Kenyatta was the son of a pauper, he struggled and was detained by colonialist for all those years. You cannot say there is a Kenyatta dynasty and because of that President Uhuru is part of one,” a stern Raila said.

He was speaking at at the memorial service for the late former Maendeleo ya Wanawake chairperson Jane Kiano.

Son of the first Vice President of Kenya, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga , draws a large chunk of his support from various regions in Kenya, most notably the Coastal Region and his native former Nyanza province .

Raila is commonly known as “Baba”, concidentally: he was an MP at the same time as his father between 1992 and 1994. Other nicknames that have been associated with the premier are such as “Nyundo” which is hammer in Kiswahili , “Tinga” which means tractor in Kiswahili a symbol of his National Development Party, NDP, “Agwambo” meaning a man who is unpredictable and ‘BABA’ which means the political father.

Raila Odinga on mashujaa day revealed ODM leader Raila Odinga his appointment African Union as the High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa.

The new role will see Raila Odinga work to support and strengthen AU’s departments and those of the Planning and Coordinating Agency of New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD).
