Leaders today joined the family of Former chairperson of Maendeleo ya Wanawake Organization (MYWO) Ms. Jane Kiano during the memorial service that was held at ACK St. Francis Church, Karen.
Some of the leaders that were in attendance include President Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila Odinga, Kipchumba Murkomen among others.
According to her family, Kiano succumbed to lung cancer last week on Thursday night at the Nairobi Hospital where she was undergoing treatment. Kiano died at the age of 74.
“She battled bravely against lung cancer and we are very proud of her…May her legacy continue to inspire young women and girls from all corners of this country. We are sure that she now walks with the angels,” said a statement released by the family.
Jane Kiano was cremated two days after her death, Saturday October 27, 2018 at Kariokor crematorium.
