Governor Sonko airlifts Congestina Achieng to Nairobi for treatment

Kenyan Boxing Legend, Congestina Achieng has been airlifted from her rural home in Siaya to Nairobi for treatment upon Governor Mike Sonko’s directive. The Nairobi Governor has also promised her employment after rehabilitation.

The Sonko rescue team arrived to the Achieng’s rural home earlier this morning to make this happen.

This comes after the Governor instructed Nairobi Sports Management Board to take up former boxing Champion Conjestina’s plight following viral video.

Those who had previously offered to help her are accused of bailing on her. Her Viral video attracted a lot of reactions as Kenyans called out for those in a position to help should take up the responsibility.

Yesterday several celebrities  weighed in on the matter saying that people should stop exposing her to sympathy and peace but work together to ensure that she gets the help she needs. The legend deserves a better treatment being in that pitiful state.

Earlier this morning NACADA (National Authority for the Campaign against drug abuse) made a committed to take the boxing legend Conjestina Achieng to the best  rehab/ mental institution in Kenya.

Youth empowerment foundation Director of  NACADA; Vinie Chipukeezy made the announcement saying that they managed to reach out to her and will be picking her from her Kisumu home today, before being taken to the best mental institution there is in Kenya.

The  misfortunes of the female boxer Conjestina Achieng’, once the pride of Kenya in the boxing field, began when she was reported to be ailing after many blows to her head.

About 6 years ago, Conjestina was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder/paranoid schizophrenia and was admitted at Mathari Hospital in 2012, after she drifted into a psychotic episode.
