Ramos elaborates on Conte links

Real Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos has fired a warning at former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte noting that he cannot immediately command respect from Los Blancos players should he take over at Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui has come under fire for the recent dismal results and is rumored to be on the brink of being axed. Antonio Conte is linked with the Real Madrid job and is set to replace Lopetegui should he be sacked.

The 13-time Champions League winners have lost five of their last seven games in all competitions after the humiliating 5-1 loss to arch-rivals Barcelona.

When asked if Real Madrid need an imposing coach like Conte, Ramos Replied, “Respect is earned, it is not imposed. Neither a name nor another. We have won everything with coaches that you already know, in the end the management of the players is more important than the technical knowledge of a coach.”

The Spaniard had this to say when asked if Lopetegui is about to be sacked, “We are to death with the coach who is always in charge, those decisions are taken by those above. We will see what happens in the next few hours.”
