Residents from Njoro Nakuru County live in fear after unidentified number of lions escaped from Lake Nakuru National Park have made
The residents they have sleepless nights as the lions continue to roam freely in the area.
So far, the wild animals have killed two cows at Subukia and Ngata Villages which neighbour the game park.
The residents are accusing the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) of neglecting their cries for help.
“I got out of my house only to find the lioness pulling the cow and that was when I threw a panga and it escaped,” One of the owners of the cow recalled.
They say the distress is hampering harvesting as they believe that the animals may be hiding in the maize plantations.
Just recently in October 2018, KWS captured another lion that had escaped from the park.
