More good news for AFC Leopards as key midfielder extends contract

AFC Leopards have extended the contract of influential  midfielder Whyvonne Isuza.

The Former Mathare United ace has extended his stay at the Den for another three years and it is surely a reward for his contributions to Leopards season that saw him emerge as the club’s second top scorer with eleven goals in 2018.

“AFC Leopards SC is glad to announce that our 2018 top scoring midfielder Whyvonne Isuzza has signed a new long-term deal with the club. The high scoring midfielder and workhorse has signed a 3 years extension to his current contract,” the club statement read on their official Facebook page.

Isuza is the second high profile player to extend his contract with Kenya’s second most successful club  after defender Robinson Kamura signed for another two-year contract. The developments come after Duncan Otieno and Alex Orotomal left the club for Nkana and St Georges respectively.

In a day littered with good news for AFC Leopards, the club also confirmed the signing of a new manager 43-year-old Serbian coach Nicola Kavazovic who last managed Botswana outfit Township Rollers as their new coach to replace the departed Rodolfo Zapata.

The two coaches look to have traded positions as Rodolfo Zapata is rumored to be on the verge of being unveiled as the new Township Rollers head coach. Kavazović successfully completed UEFA “A” license and enrolled on UEFA “PRO” license in Football Federation of Bosnia and Hercegovina. In July 2012, he was the youngest national team head coach in the world, at age of 36. Kavazovic has also managed the Tajikistan and Sri Lankan national teams.

AFC Leopards will start their next campaign against Kariobangi Sharks on 8th December.
