The pledges and proceeds from the concert go to the trust in support of cancer patients. The first concert was held in 2009 and was intended as a Celebration following Doris’ healing from cancer. As the idea for the concert was shared, more and more people asked to be involved and the outcome was a 100 voice choir singing over two weeks at three different venues.

She wanted to create a space where other people going through cancer could find solace, comfort, and most of all, get some financial help towards treatment.

The sister of renowned Kenyan musician, Kanji Mbugua had always been involved in music and so it came easily for her to help through music thus the birth of the Twakutukuza Trust in 2009.

This years concert brings the choir led by Kenyan artistes such as June Gachui, Alice Kimanzi, Noel Nderitu, Manasseh Shalom among others and runs from Friday 26th October to Sunday 28th October.
