Chelsea ace told to quit

Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek produced a stunning performance as he helped his side beat BATE Borisov 3-1 on Thursday night in Europa League clash.

Despite Loftus-Cheek grabbing a hattrick, England legend Glenn Hoddle things the forward must quit Chelsea if he isn’t given his chance soon. Hoddle poured cold water on the player’s performance as he claimed he doesn’t think the three-goals would be enough for Loftus-Cheek to start against Burnley on Sunday.

“If I’m him, I’m hoping he takes me off before the 90 minutes is up. The fact that the manager hasn’t suggested to me that he won’t be starting him at the weekend,” said Glenn.

“I fear for the lad. If he isn’t going to get the opportunities soon then he has got to move. He’s a talent – with my England hat on I need to see him playing,” added the former Chelsea man.

Speaking to BT Sport, Loftus-Cheek also admitted that his hattrick might not be enough for him to be given a role in Chelsea’s starting XI.

“Any player will tell you it’s nice to score a hat-trick. It feels good. Hopefully, there’ll be many more to come. The first thing in my head is to keep training well, even though I’m playing well it’s really important to train as hard as I can to keep fitness up and keep sharp for when times like this to come when I get an opportunity to start or come on,” he said.

“So first thing’s first, I need to keep up the good habits – eating well, sleeping well and training well and if I keep doing that then good things will come.”

The Blues will travel to Turf Moor on Sunday 28th to take on Burnley.
