Douglas Otieno spoke and aid that he had heard the release of  the governor and the family has left everything to God.

Sharon was buried at the family home last Friday, 46 days after she was killed and her body dumped in a thicket near Oyugis town.

Unfortunately Mr Obado’s two aides, Michael Oyamo and Caspal Ojwang’,who are among the suspects in the murder were not released.

Obado’s co-accused Michael Oyamo (personal assistant) and Migori County Clerk Caspal Obiero will remain in custody after being denied bail. Judge Lesiit ruled that the release of Oyamo and Obiero would cause fear and anxiety among members of the public. She also cited security concerns as part of the reasons why the two will remain at the Industrial Area Remand Prison.

As the Judge was declaring Obado’s  bail yesterday, Obado’s supporters celebrated in Migori, Awendo and Uriri after news of his release spread across the county. County government offices were deserted as staff followed the bail application hearing in nearby hotels.

South Kanyamkago ward administrator Omollo Athiambo said, “We are so happy the courts have listened to his prayers. It was not easy for the governor. He has undergone a lot of torment and we are praying for him.”

Mr Athiambo told The Standard that they hoped the governor would return to work and deliver his election promises. He also called for calm and tolerance.
